I’m excited to be attending (virtually) the International Conference on Latin American Economic Development and Trade this week, January 15th. The agenda includes a couple of topics of interest to me. One is economic growth in middle income countries, as influenced by female entrepreneurship. My mother is an entrepreneur of sorts, having started her own mental health practice, so this topic is not only interesting generally to me because of its focus on the economic growth of countries, but it “hits home” for me in this personal way. I’m also curious about the agenda item, measuring the impact of intertidal seaweed on the quantification of carbon in the environment. Maintaining carbon levels, in places like the Amazon rainforest, is critical to preventing or slowing climate change, so I’m curious if this second topic will teach me more about that.
I’ll plan to share a few thoughts and take-aways after.
